　　本公司原名为宁波罚没走私物资拍卖行，是经宁波市市政府、浙江省内贸办公室审批通过，于1999年12月成立的国有全资企业，由市政府打击走私办公室管理，是宁波市指定的走私、罚没、充公物资拍卖行。公司成立后即创造了年拍卖成交额1亿7千余万元人民币的骄人业绩。2000年4月，以7000万元人民币成功拍卖了位于宁波市市政府对面的华宁大厦，开创了宁波市通过拍卖解决烂尾工程问题之先河，同年协助宁波海关拍卖了原油、机械设备、涤纶丝、服装、布料等罚没、超期类物资，使国有资产的回笼得到了保障。
　　为了深入贯彻宁波市人民政府《关于进一步推进国有企业改革的工作意见》的精神，宁波罚没走私物资拍卖行于2001年10月进行了企业改制，改制后更名为宁波市万事可拍卖有限公司。业务涉及动产和不动产、无形资产、机动车、各类船只、机械设备、家用电器、土地使用权、企业股份权、国家罚没类物资等国家允许流通的商品。公司严格按照《中华人民共和国拍卖法》的规定，本着"公开、公平、公正、诚实信用"的拍卖原则为社会各界提供优质服务。
